Valley of Fire State Park is Nevada’s oldest (1935) and largest (36,000 acres). It is located six miles from Lake Mead and 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas in Clark County. The low angle of the sunset demonstrates how the park got its name, as the sandstone formations come alive in brilliant colors.
