The Tonopah Historic Mining Park is located on the site of the original mining claims of 1900 that started the rush to Tonopah, giving it the nickname “Queen of the Silver Camps,” and taking Nevada out of the financial doldrums it was in following the end of the bonanza days on the Comstock. The mines in this district produced more than five million tons of ore, which would be valued today in excess of $1,200,000,000. The Park’s 100 acres includes portions of four of the original major mining companies. For more information click here.
