Esmeralda Co. Courthouse

Goldfield’s Esmeralda County Courthouse opened for business in 1908.  Esmeralda County stretches for some 3588 sq. miles, but contains fewer than 829 people (2015). If you do the math, that’s more than  4.3 square miles per person. However in the early 20th century Goldfield was the largest city in Nevada, with 32,000 residents, drawn by its mines, which produced more than $86 million. You may visit the Goldfield Hotel here.
