Between Austin and Eureka, this mountaintop rest stop offers more than the usually assortment of shaded picnic tables and restrooms. Here the traveler on the Loneliest Highway in America can enjoy a stroll on an interpretive trail of ancient petroglyphs. The rock art is located in a pinyon forest where the Native American artists might have gathered pine nuts as they created their carvings.
