Hidden Beach, Lake Tahoe

Hidden Beach, Lake Tahoe

Although this scenic spot sits right below busy Hwy. 28, only a short hop from Reno over Mt. Rose, it still qualifies as secluded and, truly, “hidden.” Unless you know to stop, and peer over the guardrails, you would never know that there is a sandy strand down below, strewn with gigantic boulders at its margins reaching into the clear blue depths. It is a scene that might have been the winning project for a class of landscape architects. Bonus: there is no convenient parking, so the people who use the beach genuinely treasure it and really want to be there. Although it’s technically illegal, some at Hidden Beach hide nothing of themselves. Clean up after your dog.

Hidden Beach is a beautiful beach located in Lake Tahoe. From the sand to the boulders this beach is all around outstanding. Please pick up your trash as it is a huge ongoing environmental issue for the Tahoe basin.

I hope it’s not blocked off this year. We really missed it last year.

I have been here in the past. I lived one summer at Lake Tahoe. It is simply beautiful. You folks don’t really realize how good you have it.
Being a senior, I spent a lot of time back then in senior centers such as Carson City, Dayton and Silver Springs. I believe Silver Springs still serves supper with Bingo following on Wednesday evenings. I miss that crowd there. I live in Florida now in Palm Harbor which is closer to my people on the East Coast.
