Santa Rosa Mtns. Ranch

Santa Rosa Mtns. Ranch

The Santa Rosa Range extends for 75 miles from the Humboldt River west of Winnemucca to the border with Oregon. It includes 9732’ Granite Peak and 9701’ Santa Rosa Peak. Parts of the range are included in the Santa Rosa-Paradise Peak Wilderness Area. The north-eastern side of the mountains shelter the ranching district of Paradise Valley on three sides. The valley was named, according to local legend, when prospectors came into the green valley after months of working in the dry dust of the high desert.
