30 Nov Storm over Mt. Rose
From a viewpoint midway up the Geiger Grade, looking down over the entire Washoe Valley, the sunset colors show through the storm front over Mt. Rose. Photographed November 29, 2014.
The Geiger Grade, State Rt. 341, heads up into the Comstock from Reno, terminating at Hwy. 50 near Mound House. It was built in 1936 and replaced the original “toll road” constructed by Davison M. Geiger and John H. Tilton in 1862.
